How is interior paint applied?

Preparation

• Move the furniture to the centre of the room and cover it.
• Cover the floor with a protective sheet.
• Mask around sockets, switches and skirting boards.
• Complete the surface preparation; apply a primer if required.

Application sequence

• Paint the ceiling first, then the walls.
• Work corners, edges and tight areas with a brush.
• Paint large surfaces with a roller, using even, overlapping passes.
• Do not leave a wall half finished; complete it before moving to the next.
• Apply the second coat once the first coat has dried.

Tips for an even finish

• Do not overload the roller; it increases dripping and roller marks.
• Work in the same direction with regular passes.
• Do not go back over an area that has started to dry; it can leave marks.
• Use the same production batch across large areas.
• Ventilate the room during and after application.

After application

Clean the equipment as soon as the work is finished. For product specific recoat and drying times, refer to the details on the product packaging and to the technical data sheet.
